We managed another early start. The van sites were very big so we didn't have to unhitch the van which saved a lot of town. We left 80 Mile Beach promising ourselves that we would come back here one day and stay a bit longer. It is beautiful.

Travelled along the dirt road back to the highway and continued 45km north to Sandfire Roadhouse where we stopped to refuel. There were 2 peacocks there and also 2 peahens - one of which was completely white.

We eventually arrived at Broome - a real tropical paradise! We booked into the caravan park which was only 2mins walk from Cable Beach. Broome is one of the "must see" locations in Australia. It is the tropical holiday town if Western Australia. It is very hot & humid at the moment - a complete contrast to the towns further south. Its' history is as a pearling town but more of that later.

It has been a long-held dream of Terry's to come to Broome and he is elated that he has finally made it. He loves life in the tropics and of course, never wanted to leave Cairns. I think he could quite happily live in Broome although it is a lot more remote than Cairns.
LIVING THE DREAM!!!
