Denham & Monkey Mia - Cloudy & cooler - 30C  about 6pm there were a few drops of rain -                                                                                                                       lasted less than 1min

This morning we went to Little Lagoon to spend some time on the beach.  We took the car down onto the beach and spent some time relaxing.  Unfortunately, when we decided to leave we got bogged in the deep sand.  We hadn't bothered to let the tyres down thinking that we would be okay, so when we got bogged in the deep sand, we had to rethink and let the tyres down.  We then managed to get back onto the road.  (We didn't even need to use the tow rope, Steve!)

In the afternoon we went to Ocean Park, an aquarium focusing on the local marine life.  The young guy who greeted us on arrival was a Pom and guess where from?  .........Stroud! and the tour guide was another Pom, she was from Birmingham!

Lion Fish

Nemo

Stone Fish
(If you look closely at the stone fish - the one closest to the camera,
you can see his eye.  The one next to him is a rock!  Good camouflage!)
Stone fish are very venomous but they only inject venom into you if you stand directly on them.  Each quill injects the venom.  It is very, very painful and can result in a long hospital stay if you happen to be injected by several quills.

Cecil the Sea snake

The sea snake is the most venomous snake around but they are not aggressive - just curious. When he tried to curl up under the rock, the tour guide just pulled him out and he was quite unfazed by her handling him.

Shark

Feeding the sharks
The area is well-known for whalesharks but unfortunately we are too early to see them.  They migrate here in a month or two.
